U.S. Labor Dept. orders New Haven to pay $65,000+ in OT back pay to workers

NEW HAVEN — The U.S. Department of Labor has ordered the city to pay more than $65,000 in back pay so far to 122 city Public Works and some Parks Department workers after the employees’ union discovered an apparent error in the way the city was calculating overtime pay, the union said.
The ruling includes $65,808 in back pay for a two-year period ending on Dec. 31, 2020. In addition, the city will be issuing a second payment for retroactive overtime pay that employees have earned so far in 2021, the United Public Service Employees Union said in a statement. READ FULL ARTICLE
