On January 28, 2013 the Berlin BOE Supervisors voted in a secret ballot election to join UPSEU. The unit previously had their own association.

After witnessing first-hand the representation that UPSEU provides to the Berlin BOE Food Service employees, both on a regular basis and through their negotiations, the BOE Supervisors knew that joining UPSEU was a decision that had to be made. They wanted to ensure that they received the highest quality of representation and superior negotiation experience that UPSEU is known for.
