A group of 217 paraprofessionals voted on February 17, 2012 in a Connecticut State Board of Labor Relations secret ballot election to be represented by UPSEU. The group was previously represented by CSEA/SEIU 2001 for over twenty years. One day prior to the election, CSEA/SEIU 2001 removed their name from the ballot and walked away from the membership.
