UPSEU Wins Animus Case at PERB

When UPSEU advocate David De Simone was laid off in the Elwood School District, UPSEU filed a PERB charge, as it was clear that David had been targeted, given his leadership role in the District for UPSEU.

While the wheels of justice move slowly, a PERB arbitrator issued a twenty seven page decision that agreed with UPSEU’s assessment granting David two full years of retroactive pay and benefits. UPSEU anticipates that the District will appeal the decision.
