UPSEU RENSSELAER COUNTY MEMBERS OVERWHELMINGLY APPROVE NEW CONTRACT
Prior to its expiration, and by an overwhelming vote, UPSEU’s 1250 member Rensselaer County unit approved the terms of a new agreement. Only eight members voted against the new agreement. Annual wage increases, longevity improvements at each step in each year, and dental coverage improvements highlighted the pact. Six items presented by the union identified as unit wide and classification based, were deferred to labor management for continued discussions.
UPSEU President, Kevin E. Boyle, Jr. who headed up the talks commended the negotiating team of Robin Anders, John Barna, Mark Burton, Jamison Facteau, Keith Gorman, Vickie Halse, Gary Herbert, Rick Hunt, Lee Hilderbrand, Susan McAvoy, Kelly Melville, Kathleen Nazarian, and Harry Theopheles for their terrific effort.
At the ratification meeting, nominations for Chief Unit Officer were taken. Mark Burton was elected. Mark had been the Chief Assistant Unit Wide Steward. Congratulations Mark. Mark replaces John Murname as Senior Probation Officer, who had been the Chief Unit Officer prior to his retirement in June.
UPSEU President, Kevin E. Boyle, Jr. had special thanks for John for his outstanding effort and leadership over the years he served.
