"Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration." Lincoln's First Annual Message to Congress, December 3, 1861.
2 Massachusetts Election Victories for UPSEU
Updated On: Apr 02, 2014
On April 1, 2014 the Massachusetts Labor Board counted the ballots for two separate secret ballot elections. UPSEU was victorious in BOTH elections.
The Town of West Springfield DPW employees, comprised of approximately 40 unit members voted to leave AFSCME Council 93 to join UPSEU. Of those voting, UPSEU received over 70% of the total votes.
In the second election, city of Westfield Dispatchers voted unanimously to leave IBPO/SEIU to join UPSEU.
We welcome both the West Springfield DPW employees and the Westfield Dispatchers to the UPSEU family!
